Mistwinter Bay update: Version 1.0.2.0
Mistwinter Bay » Devlog
Hello, everyone! We've released a new update for Mistwinter Bay - version 1.0.2.0. It's a pretty small update, but it has some serious quality of life additions. Here's what's new:
Fixed
- Holding down a key when entering a custom name of any sort now only enters one copy of the letter
Added
- There is now a Skip-button in dialogue. It is located above the Log and Pause-buttons
- When the button is held down, the dialogue is sped up. The dialogue will resume when the button is released
- The dialogue automatically resumes when an option is presented (i.e. it’s not possible to skip past choices)
- There may be some issues with certain visual effects (mostly magic) when skipping through dialogue, but it shouldn’t be game breaking
- Regular savefiles now get 3 additional autosaves separate from the regular autosave and Seasonal Autosave. These new autosaves occur when accepting to enter a main event when clicking on the Main Event-button in the throne room at the start of a month. The saves are dedicated to each month in a season, meaning that there is one for “Early [season]”, “Mid [season]” and “Late [season]” respectively. The saves will be overwritten the next time a month starts in the same way. For example, an “Early Spring” autosave will be overwritten in “Early Summer”
- By adding these saves, we hope that players who mostly rely on autosaves have less trouble going back in time if, for example, the regular autosave and Seasonal Autosave get “trapped” in a long event that can only end in the sovereign’s death
- There is a new sentence mentioning these saves in the “Saving” tutorial tip
- Permanent savefiles are not affected by these saves
- Savefile buttons - both in the save menu, load menu and when choosing a permanent savefile in the character creator - now display what general situation the game was saved in
- The following categories can be displayed: Throne Room, Town, Map, Main Event, Hangout, Quest and Prologue
- Existing savefiles will not have the text, meaning that there will be a comma and empty space after “Save [nr]”
- In order to fit the text on the buttons, Permanent Choices Save has been renamed to Permanent Save
Grammar
- Fixed various minor grammatical mistakes
We hope you enjoy the update and keep having fun with the game!

P.S. The easiest way to update the game is through the Itch desktop app. If you don't already have the game installed via the app, you have to delete the old game folder and replace it with this new one if you want to play the updated version. There is no need to move any savefiles around.
